The K-D Balance application is specifically designed for professional users who possess an existing K-D Balance account. It is an FDA 510(K) cleared mobile application that serves as a valuable tool for athletic trainers, physical therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in the assessment of vestibular dysfunction.

This application evaluates three essential metrics related to balance stance: double stance, right tandem stance, and left tandem stance. To ensure accurate measurements, the device—whether an iPhone or iPod Touch—is securely attached to the patient using a hands-free, wearable device holder that stabilizes it during assessment.

Following a structured protocol guided by step-by-step voice instructions for each stance, K-D Balance calculates an objective balance score by detecting the individual’s movements through the device's internal accelerometer. This feature allows healthcare professionals to conduct longitudinal comparisons of a patient’s K-D Balance assessments, enhancing their ability to monitor progress and efficacy over time.
